1. What barcodes will the PennyScanner read?

The scanner will read all major barcodes. The full list.

2. How can the PennyScanner be such low cost?

It uses our proprietary lens system, decoder chip and comms engine. Many companies buy in expensive third part parts - barcode scan engines, symbology decoder chips, IR transfer chips etc.. We’ve spent 15 years developing all the technologies from the ground up. – No bought in, bolt on modules. You just get one dedicated high technology solution.

3. Is the PennyScanner waterproof?

It is splash and moisture resistant but cannot be immersed in liquids.

4. Can PennyScanner be re-branded with our logo?

Yes.

5. What if The PC crashes after I’ve downloaded the data?

Usually the PennyScanner is set to keep hold of the data until the next retail barcode is scanned, so it can be just fired in again.

6. What if the battery gives up half way through scanning data?

You never lose data even if you change batteries half way through.

7. Will PennyScanner read CD and cassette cases?

No, at preset contact scanning only. CD’s etc.have 2mm plastic barrier that means the scanner is too far away from the barcode.

8. How many barocodes can the scanner hold?

Around 300 average retail codes.

9. Can a time stamp be added to each barcode?

Yes. The scanner needs to have time stamps enabled, which the user can do.

10. Can the PennyScanner generate time stamps without reading barcodes?

Yes, this can be enabled, and they can be then generated by using the button only.
